The Dundee Literary festival brings a terrific selection of authors to the city every October.

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> it's not just one place or one person. what always amazes me about dundee is it's great variety of people from different cultural and national backgrounds, whether at university or in the local community. and there are so many places my heart grew fond of over the years. for example, the view over the tay from balgay park's cemetary, or having a few pints among the locals in dundee's oldest pub (mennies), or even that there are some coffee places where you can simply sit down with a nice wee cuppa and play chess.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Despite being stuck in between oil rich Aberdeen and tourist attraction Edinburgh the people of Dundee continue to forge ahead in transforming the city from an old industrial one to one of high-tech business, excellent education and an arts, and culture scene that is becoming more tourist and citizen friendly every day, regardless of boom and bust economics. While proud of our heritage, the people of Dundee continue to focus on their future, making it a better and brighter place for tomorrow.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Frida Kahlo visited the Tay Bridge Bar (acc M Marra)... AND EVERYONE IS FRIENDLY!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> After more than a decade in Cambridge, I moved to Dundee on Sep 2013. I was reluctant at first, however its quirky charm has fascinated me. It is a welcoming place where people on the street greats you when you pass by, where the sharing of arts and human intellect is in the air. The breathtaking views, the DCA, the McManus, the discovery point, the multitude of independent coffees and restaurants, the vibrant atmosphere, the fresh and buzzing confidence of the waterfront redevelopment. Dundee is a unique place, to me culture is all around.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Loadsoweemensingin at the Rep Theatre!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee, just look at the view of our city we take for granted every day. Some people moan about our city, lets make a comparison when you compare our city to a lot of other city's throughout the uk and the world. Is it safe to walk our streets ? and we do like a good moan about everything but do we like it when people from other city's moan about us, so lets hear it for Bonnie Dundee.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I love that Dundee is built on a human scale. I can jump on my bike in the north of the town and within 10 minutes I can be sitting drinking a coffee in a coffee shop, wandering round an art exhibition, doing my grocery shopping, walking along a sandy beach or a forest trail, watching a film, dancing the night away or just getting out into the countryside.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> For those looking for something different, Dundee has many local independent retail businesses run by passionate people offering both outstanding service and first class (often locally produced) products.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> My Dad's city. I have visited regularly over the years and am delighted at the wonderful changes taking place. I am a keen supporter of the arts and see Dundee's rebirth as a centre for the arts very exciting. Once the waterfront developments are complete Dundee will add another dimension to it's colourful history. I love to visit Dundee. I love to walk its streets and meet with its people. I fully support Dundee's bid to be Culture Capital 2017.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> When I came to Dundee to work I was surprised by how much research and innovation happens here. From leading the way in computer games to science-defying developments in medical science it's amazing the talent and skill that is based here.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The richness of the art scene! In the late Nineties I enjoyed going to exhibitions and events in London. Now I'm getting the same buzz from openings and exhibitions here in Dundee. Thanks to DCA, DJCAD, Generator and several generations of art students who have stuck around the city.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The fantastic food spots on offer! The overall vibe from the city is great!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> How much it has improved over the last five years!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee is a vibrant city. A city we can (and all) love. A city with so much to see, full of heritage. A city with so many creative talents, that inspire so many people. Dundee is a homely city, a city we should be proud of.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Scotland's Jute Museum at Verdant works.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> There is a great history of cultural strengths. There is terrific access to the arts to all segments of society, not just the affluent. This has always been a priority in Dundee and long may it continue!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> My memories of Dundee include a vibrant music scene with folksinging, pop, etc.. In addition the stage scene with theatre and variety shows giving an eclectic choice of venues. A compact town centre gives a village feeling to the town which enhances a feeling of togetherness.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The rest of Scotland sneering at Dundee, because...?
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Moving to Dundee a few years ago, I quickly fell in love with the city with it completely surpassing my expectations.. It's a beautiful city full of talented people, with students from DJCAD producing spectacular work and creating a name for themselves. I'm proud to say that I live and study in Dundee.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> It should be Dundee, in 2017, because, culturally, we are growing daily.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The City and the people are growing and expanding ALL THE TIME. Their ability to embrace change and look to the future is inspiring!! City of Culture would give this City the springboard it deserves into a cultural explosion of sharing our differences.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The hidden gems of architecture scattered around the city along with the green spaces as your drive into Dundee along the river.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> T Ann Cake! The best coffee and cake in Dundee, brilliant decor and you're always greeted with a cheery smile. Doesn't get better than this.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> That you're never more than 6 feet away from a game developer. And that there are so many opportunities for them to develop and flourish here.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The Walk along the front is fantastic!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee has a unique feel to it, it has a tradition of accessible culture much of which comes from the working people of the city. It has always been enriched by people moving to the city, many of whom came to visit and decided to stay. Dundee is waking up to its potential future, recognising the value of it past and embracing the changes happening to the city which are occurring now!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Camperdown parkrun started 15 months ago, and since then has built a community from accross the city, of people who show up every week to run or volunteer, and enjoy being in the great outdoors of Camperdown park. The generosity and welcoming atmosphere created every week is the highlight of my week in Dundee.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Hidden secret - Broughty Ferry Amateur Operatic Society. The present - our games industry. The future - a cure for cancer, which some believe will be made here, in Dundee.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Born and educated in Dundee from 1946 -1972 I have been astounded by the transformation of the city over the last 40 years. As the transformation continues returning to the city and the University are always a revelation. Dundee continues to be a vibrant visionary city and shall always have a place in my heart.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Even after 10 years of living in the city I seem to stumble onto new things in and around the area of Dundee. :)
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Broughty Ferry has to be Dundee's best kept secret. Great beaches, great restaurants. It has a castle for christ's sake! ;)
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I'm excited by the excitement change is bringing: Dundee's cultural contribution is yet to be defined. So many parts of a new way of binding a city together are in the froth along the Tay: knowledge, history, clean next-generation energy, sustainability, digital promise and information culture. Dundee is becoming something new, something beyond what each ingredient adds to the soup. It's where a diverse past is becoming a vibrant future.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> culture in the city is for ordinary people, not just the elite
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> There really is something for everyone, music with the likes of the blues festival and loads of gigs, fantastic theatre both amature and professional, a variety of fine art or easy access to both urban and rural environments

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Art in such a small city, particularly visual art and theatre is of an amazingly high standard. There is a huge appetite for more and the City of Culture designation could really help this. It would tie in nicely with revamping the city centre which will make the city visually pleasing itself.

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee is a perfect location. It is full of bright and talented people. It is constantly changing. It also invites new creativity to the city which keeps it vibrant and exciting. There is always something happening. It is a place I hold dear, keep coming back to and will never forget!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I love the sense of community Dundee has, it's something you don't find in many places. I noticed this when speaking about Dundee to people from other places around Scotland.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> It is a fantastic city with fantastic fowk living in it.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> How it was fantastic when I first visited it 35 years ago and just gets better. An event:- Jumping on a bus 35 years ago as a west coast Dundee United Supporter. Had no idea where I was going. Bus driver said he would let me know wher to get off (and did) and a wee woman sat down and talked to me all the way to the ground. On top of the incredible setting and natural assets, it is without doubt the friendliest city in the world.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> around every corner is a new surprise. Diverse and friendly

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The energy in the city through the long term Waterfront development project which will promote us across the world - and as for the V&amp;A in Dundee just can't wait!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The beautiful views in the city. Such as from up the law hill, walking down glamis drive, walking along the esplanade towards broughty ferry and the view from up the sidlaws. My favourite places to walk with my dog, Louis are balgay park and riverside nature park, peaceful and scenic. I think we have the best scenery of any town in the UK I've been to!

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> It is ever changing and the positive future and development of Dundee is being heard about throughout the world. The former 3 J's have definitely started to disappear and Dundee is being put out there as a cultural and business centre.

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The view from The Law, the hub of the City. Each view is like the spokes on a bike with different cultural experiences awaiting in every direction. The South to the city centre the bridges and beyond the Tay to Fife. The South East to the grassy beach and the delights of the Ferry, and the bombs and biodiversity of Buddon ness. The East to Arbroath the birthplace of Scotland and the great beaches and cliffs of the east coast. The North East to the invention of the Bridie ,the Angus Glens and wild adventures, the North to Golden Eagles and the heart of the Highlands, and the North West to Birnham and Macbeth country. Finally the fantastic view to the West of the Tay Estuary of the Tay winding its way to the heart of Scotland.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I love the ground roots style activism that seems to make the City belong more to the people of the community than any other city I know. The very strong games community is one example. Another is the West End Festival that is organised by some very cool Dundonians!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I live in the west end of the city, high up above Perth Road and just in front of Blackness Road. I have an uninterupted view of the River Tay. I waken each morning and the view never fails to amaze me. It is fantastic and the ever changing river provides a backdrop for all sorts of wildlife. I can look west towards Perth and see what sort of weather is coming my way and I look east and sometimes see the 'haar' rolling up the river.I am a very fortunate Dundonian.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The Botanic Garden, an underused hidden gem.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee's people are it's greatest asset. The vast majority are helpful and honest. It's been said that if you're lost in Edinburgh and ask for help, you'll be giving directions, in Glasgow they'll draw you a map, in Dundee they'll get in the car and take you there!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> A vibrant business community with a ''can do'' attitude that welcomed with open arms MacRoberts as a new entrant to the City earlier in the year.

Battle &amp; Casstle at mid age.At modern age, industrial revolution- jute jam and journalism,antarctic expedition, research ( life science, gaming, surgical &amp; anaesthetic instruments)-- in a sentence- a city of discovery , a city of innovation. At present Dundee is a member of best 21 itellectual communities in this world.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> It is a very fast developing city. Its place in Scientific discoveries is irreplaceable and the collaborations of creative disciplines! Dundee is a little heaven of Britain and whoever comes here falls in love from the first sight.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee's biggest secret is... THE PEOPLE!! We have such a varied mix of ethnicities and locals with rich histories going back to the mills, etc. Our places of education speak for themselves too. To not acquaint yourself with the riches of local culture, places of beauty and interest in Dundee would be a big miss.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> No Body's Fool..... Dundee is the peoples city. Bordering now on all sides by Dundee relocaters Inclduing heading up the coast to Monifieth and beyond....invergowrie and Inchture and beyond including Newport, Tayport and St Andrews. Dundee has a great surrounding of People offering artisan, cultural and musical ideas and delivering something special for and too our City. To me Dundee has it all .....too small to be a big shot and so different that you canna forget her!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I love the different walks around the city that appeal to all level of walkers and interests. I particularly like the Dighty Trail and the Bridgefoot walk. The walks in and around the City Centre reveal the many past and present historical and cultural aspects of the City. I love Dundee... it's a wee gem.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I love that Dundee is striving to improve and has so much to offer from Football at Junior &amp; Senior level,the Science Centre, Art at McManus &amp; DCA and a brilliant rep theatre. We're on the river, near beautiful beaches and countryside and a thriving city! Beautiful buildings in The Caird Hall, Morgan Academy, McManus Gallery &amp; Custom House

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Nothing is "normal" about Dundee. Having lived there for 4 years at university, the thing that most surprises me is the notion so many Scottish people have of the place: "Dundee? That's a dump" being the consensus of nearly 100% of those who've never been. The lovely secret held by those who have is that it is one of the most wonderfully inviting, absorbing, positive, encouraging, resourceful and accepting small cities in the world. Do we really want to share that secret? Oh, go on then!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The council music and musical theatre provision. Fantastic.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> We have such a vast amount of interesting places and things to do. My great grandchildren are here for Easter so we intend doing The Rock Garden/Broughty Ferry Castle/Sensation Centre/DCA/Verdant Works etc etc. and their excitement is hard to contain. Also as a family we think Dundee has one of the best music scenes going on as well.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I love the wonderful location on the Tay estuary. The views across the Tay from the city are tremendous as are the views from the Fife side. I also love the sheer Victorian quality of the city ---the large jute mansions , substantial public buildings and streets of tenements. The city has a vibrancy with DCA , the McManus galleries and the Rep. The new riverside project will add to this vibrancy.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I moved to Dundee in 2000 and intended to stay just long enough to do my degree, I am still here 13 years later, I fell in love with a city with a warm and friendly feel. My favourite thing in Dundee is our selection of parks, I particularly love Baxter Park, I'm lucky enough to live overlooking the park. Me and my dog love walking in the park. It's beautiful, clean and well looked after.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Museums - Discovery, McManus Gallery, and Verdant Works are all fantastic visitor attractions.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The city feels more vibrant and diverse than ever before. The mind is never bored in a place like Dundee. Hidden secret has to be the various collectives operating in the city.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The oldest iron bridge in Scotland, folk music in the fisherman's tavern, ancient graveyard on church street, Dundee Choral Union, our vision &amp; Downfield Music Society.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundonians are the friendliest people living in one of the sunniest places in Scotland. Give a smile and you are sure to get one back, sit on a bus and don't be shy to strike up a conversation with the person next to you. Dundee isn't a hugh city like London, it still has a sense of community and it also has fantastic things on offer. Music, theatre, museums, a thriving pub and club scene, and art everhwhere you look.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The people, the history and the resiliance of the city.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> A small city maybe but it has everything you need - culture (museums and theatre), shops, universities - and all on your doorstep. Plus it has Dundonians - some of the friendliest people one could ever hope to meet. I love it here!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I think Dundee is much more beautiful than a lot of people realise. There are some stunning buildings and because so much of it is on a hill there are some beautiful views of the river. I like going to the graveyard next to the Westpark Conference Centre and looking across the river. Other things I like about Dundee - the DCA, the amazing Dundee Roller Girls roller derby team, the Creative Dundee movement that seems to be developing, the little independent shops and cafes that are hidden away and some of the lovely green spaces we have.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The people are very friendly and Dundee is like a large village with many hidden features that you keep on finding the more you explore.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The spectacular view from the top of Ninewells Avenue ... it is never twice the same, beautiful in all its moods, and when the tide is low and the river is full of sandbanks, you feel you could walk your way across to Fife.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> We all know about the Three J's, but I only recently found out there's a hidden and covered-over network of old rail tunnels crossing the town. 14 years of living here and I still find new surprises.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The brilliant variety of live theatre, music, venues, quaint independent shops, cafes, restaurants....the list is endless. A university town, vibrant and colourful that cares about itself.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I had never visited Dundee before moving here for Art School in 2004. Since then I have made it my home. The best bit about Dundee is that it feels like a big village, you're always bumping into someone you know. Yet, as a city it has lots to do. The thriving cultural scene is rivalling Glasgow and Edinburgh and with all the new developments it will only get better. Once you get used to the Dundonian accent the people are great, so friendly and fun :)
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, as part of the University of Dundee, is ranked among the top art colleges in the UK for research, and led the country in student satisfaction surveys. As a testament to the quality of Education provided at DJCAD, its students have won more awards at the London New Designers exhibition than students from any other institution in the UK for two consecutive years.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The history of the jute trade
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> After one year in Dundee, my life has been changed. I discovered myself and the world in new ways. This is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. I learned how to communicate across cultures and had chances to see historic monuments and famous arts. Due to my immature thinking, I might have caused some misunderstandings, but the lecturers had a sympathy, they forgave mistakes of mine. I studied on ​​a topic that I love and received invaluable advices from Professor. I believe these experiences would translate into benefits throughout my life &amp; ... I miss the city :)
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee is an amazing and vibrant city with so much going on - we love Exchange Street with all its independent shops and cafes.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee is an amazing city, the location is like no other. The fact that you can be in the city centre one minute and 'in the country' the next is unique. The people are warm and friendly and there is a great sense of community wherever you are in the city!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Over the last couple of decades Dundee has become a hub of creativity, not perhaps something which those not familiar with the city would realise immediately. There are exhibitions and arts events and festivals throughout the year ranging from the DJCAD degree show in May to the Light Night in November. Dundee being a compact city, everything is accessible
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The Gardyne Theatre is a joy! Have been to The agony and ecstasy of Steve Jobs and an Audience with Jenni Murray in the past two weeks, both marvellous and so different. It's a jewel of a place and more people need to find out about it .
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Dundee Schools Music Theatre an education as well as friends for life.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design continues to 'fleh heh' as one of Britain's Top 5 art schools, but paradoxically remains a hidden gem, both locally and nationally.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Without doubt the most underrated city in Scotland, 4 years there as a student made me proud to have chosen Dundee over the traditional university cities which peers from my area were choosing. An innovative forward thinking city with the best weather in Scotland! People are missing out on a great city by listen to the sterotype, Ive done my bit to change my friends views by getting them to visit the city and the city played its role to perfection too.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> That my city of birth keeps on reinventing itself and appreciates it's rich history!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Can't wait for my son and I to use the New Olympia Swimming facility this summer and very much looking forward to seeing how the new waterfront developments will progress and enrich our city.

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> This beautiful little city of mine, I have lived here all my 66yrs of life, It never ceases to surprise me it grows better year after year with all our redevelopment of the Waterfront which will be fantastic when finished, to the V&amp;A which will bring in loads of visitors to our city. We have a wealth of great things to do, like the D.C.A, REP, Verdant Works,New swimming baths,Ice Rink, Discovery ship, music venues, loads of restaurants, Our great Universities that bring young people from all over the world. The great singers, song writers and actors that Dundee has produced known world wide. And off course the Dundee people well what can I say none better world over .

<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The citizens of Dundee are what make it such a vibrant city. They are open, friendly, and helpful, and seem to adapt easily to change. This approach to life is fully deserving of the City of Culture award.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The view, from riverside you get stunning vistas of the Tay and Fife, from the Law you get stunning views all around. The people are intelligent, engaged and forward thinking.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> the people :) the views :) the architecture :) the parks :) the air :) good hospitals :) beautiful Maggies Centre :) friendly and warm :)
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The distinctive Dundonian language celebrated in the songs of Michael Marra and the performance poetry of Mark Thompson.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The sheer amount of interesting artists and projects that come out of the Art School.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The Dundee Jazz Festival is a brilliant event, showcasing local talent and bringing the great people of the city together during the summer months. Dundee is geographically the sunniest city in Scotland and it's true - whenever I visit Dundee to visit family &amp; friends (monthly) the sun is always shining! I got married in Dundee &amp; my husband's family from England were bowled over by how friendly people were, everywhere they went. And how clean and pretty the town is. Makes me feel so proud, like most Dundonians are of our city and what we've achieved.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> We have so much to offer in such a small city, talent in abundance and lovely friendly people.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> Two closest football stadia in the world. Smallest city to have had both clubs reach semi final of both European competitions.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> We have some of the best live music in Dundee ! Currently on the go are; Anderson, McGinty, Webster, Ward and Fisher - The Boston Tea Party - The View - Deacon Blue - Ricky Ross - The Hazy Janes - Danny Wilson - Alan Gorrie - (AWB) Not forgetting those who are sadly no longer with us - The late Michael Marra - Dougie Martin and many many more!
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> I love all the talks and events that go on around the city, some supplied by the University and others just from people wanting to inform and educate about Science, the Arts, or just about anything you can think of.
<b>Q) What surprises you about the city?</b><br><hr><b>A)</b> The glorious setting, the spectacular river Tay, the rolling hills of Fife, the blend of old-new build in the city, and the relentless cheerfulness of its citizens
